You can't go into it looking backwards!

If you had not realized how blessed you are just to be alive, you ought to start doing so. Yes, I know 2020 has been one of the worst years we had experienced, but you made it! You survived, you pushed through, no matter how difficult it was, you made it.

Whatever happened, happened and there is nothing you can do to change it. You can, however, change or attempt to change what is to come and keep your head up.

First of all, you can’t go forward looking backwards. So do not dread on the year that has passed, the hurt it caused or the disappointments that it brought you. Rather take the lessons it gave you, apply it to this new year and move on.

Secondly, do not compare yourself to other people or your situation to theirs. It does not do you good, all it does is demotivate you, it stresses you out and you end up not enjoying your own journey. Do you Boo, just do you! Be all about you and your life which might not be where you want it to be right now, but you are getting there.

Last, but in no way the least, BE THANKFUL and CELEBRATE every little thing! Now this is one thing I cannot stress enough. Be thankful and grateful about the smallest little things in life, for instance walking with your coffee down the office hallway without spilling one drop. As soon as I get to my desk, and obviously after putting down my cup, I give myself a pat on the back. Not only did I do it right, but also, I did not create more work for our cleaner. I even celebrate surviving a whole day in heels, because Lord knows that is just painful for me, so I give myself a pat on the back and I even do a happy dance as soon as I get home.

I want to wish you a happy and celebration-filled 2021. Do not forget to do you Boo and remember to keep your head up even though you're fed up! ;)
