Ethics still applied?
03 July 2019,

Good day all
Trust every one reading the blog is warm and well.
I am proud to also be a member of the Flamingo Rotary Club in Welkom. I have the opportunity and privilege to have met and be involved in community projects with a group of individuals that I can really say is a group of people that in business dealings, family and social, attempt to uphold the Four way test of Rotary.
The 4 way Test is one of the world's most widely printed and quoted statements of business ethics which was created in 1932 by Rotarian Herbert J . Taylor and is now used world wide as a moral code for personal and business relationships by some. Herbert was asked to help revive a near bankrupt cookware manufacturing company at that stage. He responded by drafting the 4 way test and challenged each and every employee to uphold these 4 morals in each and everything they do.
The 4 Way Test
Is it the Truth?
Is it Fair to all Concerned?
Will it build Goodwill and better friendship?
Will it be Beneficial to all concerned?
The business after adopting these guidelines turned the business around in 5 years time and after that made profound profit.
Maybe some may think too idealistic for the real world?
To me it is this - The truth cannot exist without justice, Fair to all concerned can only benefit and improve personal and business relationships, Goodwill and Better Friendships can assist in cooperation and teamwork and will it be beneficial to all concerned I think encourage a constructive and creative competition in business.
Maybe it can offer all of us a fresh and positive vision in the midst of a world full of tension, confusion and uncertainty at times.
Hope every one has a blessed July 2019.
