Legal tips for coming holiday season

16 October 2019,  Marié Combrink 758

I was actually shocked when I went into a local grocery store last week and saw the staff starting to  decorate the  store with beautiful and colourful Christmas decorations! Already!

Then I also realised that it means the year is drawing to an end and realised how fast this year went by!

As an attorney, we know that while it is supposed to be a blessed time with family and friend,  this
time of the year can be stressfull for some people where some act reckless and we notice a
rise in complaints regarding finances, family matters and arrests.

Let's have a look at some tips for the coming holidays to make sure we make the best of 2019 that is still left AND if you or some-one you know have a legal issue during this time, not to feel overwhelmed but rather get help early and know that we are available to assist with legal problems:

General tips

*  Do not drink and drive
*  Keep to the prescribed speed limits
*  If you drive and feel tired, stop and rest
*  Remember to focus on the road and not on your cell phone
*  Make sure your vehicle is in a proper roadworthy condition when on the road, which can
    avoid traffic fines and accidents.
*  Make sure children have activities in car to avoid a meltdown and take your concentration off
    the road
*  Do not incur debt or spend more than you have as this just causes stress in the new year
*  Make sure your residence is securely locked and do not leave anything in your car when going
    into shopping centres
*  Always keep your young children close when in busy centres
*  Divorced or seperated parents avoid visitation problems by scheduling times now already and
    try to be practical

With the right frame of mind and proper care we wish all a joyful Christmas and holiday time.....

Looking forward to a blessed 2020 with family, our firm and employees and our clients.
