My name is Simei Verster, and this is the story of how I ended up back in my hometown after spending 4 years in the Winelands.

 I am a 22-year-old LLB graduate who recently embarked on the infamous ‘articles’ journey. Many people give you words of advice when they hear this, other’s give a sympathetic pat on the back. For me, starting my articles is the first steppingstone in a very exciting career path. I have a passion for helping people, making the law accessible to everyone and ultimately giving a voice to people who are often not heard. Where better to do that than the place where I first discovered what I was passionate about. I, like many other attorneys, was a fiery debater at school. In the three years that I did debating, I discovered just how much I loved fighting for something I believed in.
